What are Cosmetic Injections?
The muscles of the face allow us to express a range of emotions such as happiness, sadness or frustration.
Over time, the repeated use of facial muscles causes lines and wrinkles to occur, particularly around the frown area, and may even make you look angry or worried, even when you are not. Over time, the lines may get deeper.
Anti-Wrinkle
What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Made from a purified protein, Anti-Wrinkle injections temporarily block the signal between the nerve and muscle to prevent dynamic wrinkles (wrinkles that are visible with expression) becoming static wrinkles (wrinkles that are always visible).
Most wrinkles form as a result of the continual contraction of facial muscles. These contractions are what create different facial expressions like frowning, squinting and smiling. These facial movements create dynamic wrinkles and over the years, these expressions become etched on the face.
Results
Results generally become visible between about 3 – 10 days, but will continue to improve over the next 2 weeks. We book all our clients for a complimentart review 2 weeks post-treatment to ensure the treatment has met your expectations as well as to ensure treatment efficancy.
Results may last 4 to 6 months, but many external factors such as metabolism and the area being treated will determine how long your treatment will last.
During your consultation, we will be able to advise more accurately how long to expect.
Post-treatment care
After your treatment, you may resume normal activities but you should avoid applying pressure or rubbing the treated area for at least 3 days to prevent the Anti-Wrinkle Injections ‘migrating
Dermal Filler
What are Dermal Filler Injections?
Made from complex sugar chains, also known as hyaluronic acid, these injections attract moisture and provide hydration for naturally looking results.
The collagen gel restores lost volume in the face and is available in different densities to ensure the most appropriate enhancements are achieved. Areas such as the lips require a softer product to ensure the results are more natural looking, however areas that need more support like the cheeks, marionette lines etc, a thicker product should be used.
Results
Results are almost instant and continue to improve as the body’s natural collagen stores grow around the product. Results may last around 9 months in the lips and 12 months with dermal filler that is injected into stationary positions around the face, but many external factors such as metabolism and the area being treated will determine how long your treatment will last.
During your consultation, we will be able to advise more accurately how long to expect.
Post-treatment care
It is recommended that blood thinning medications are avoided where possible 48 hours prior to treatment. Swelling is normal post-treatment and will generally subside over a couple of days.
Bruising may also occur however, all measures are taken to avoid this happening. Ice will be provided at your appointment and is encouraged to be used along with rest. Prescription grade anaesthetic cream will be used to ensure minimal discomfort.
